NIBSC 隸屬 於(yu) NBSB, NBSB通過對 NIBSC 的管理，確保生物產(chan) 品的質量與(yu) 安全，從(cong) 而保障並促進公眾(zhong) 的健康。 ＮＩＢＳＣ 提供對投入英國市場的生物藥品的獨立測 試，尤其是用於(yu) 英國兒(er) 童免疫計劃的疫苗；它同時 也是歐盟控製藥品進入歐盟市場的藥品控製 實 驗 室 （Official Medicines Control Laboratories, OMCL）。 如果出現不能滿足藥品存放要求或患者 出現不良反應等問題，NIBSC也可對已投入歐盟市 場的產(chan) 品進行檢驗。 NIBSC製備的菌毒種和檢測 抗原、抗血清標準品，保障了各廠家順利的研究和 生產(chan) 。
